Doit-on vraiment subir?: François Damas at TEDxLiège

François Damas is born in 1953 and currently works for the La Citadelle Hospital in Liège. His is trained as anaesthetist and since 1987 he spent most of his time working in the intensive care unit. His involvement in medical ethics and taking care of the critically ill have led him to the domain of providing care to critically ill patient during their end of life phase.

François Damas is the chairman of the ethic committee of his hospital and is a member of the Belgian federal commission on euthanasia, a position that is much controversial. Beside the Nederland and Luxembourg, the Belgian Law on euthanasia is unique in the rest of the world. There is much to learn from the application of such law.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
